Windies Fall to all-time Low on ICC Rankings

The Windies have fallen to a new low in the ICC Test rankings following their 2-0 series defeat to New Zealand. The Caribbean side lost three ranking points to now be in a virtual tie in eighth with Bangladesh.Despite winning their series against Zimbabwe 1-0 in November, the Windies took a backward step when they were blanked by New Zealand. They lost the first Test by an innings and 67 runs in Wellington and were defeated by 240 runs in Hamilton with a day to spare.

The Windies have now won just four Tests of their last 20 over the last two years but three of those have come over the last three months, including victories over then highly-ranked Pakistan and England. With the series win, New Zealand has risen three points but remained fourth, one place ahead of Australia, while India maintain a healthy lead over South Africa at the top.
