The 2017 Department of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools 40 overs Under 15 Tournament continued on Tuesday June 6 with the playing of four matches island wide.Victories were recorded for Vide Bouteille Secondary over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary, Babonneau Secondary over Ciceron Secondary, Beanfield Comprehensive over Piaye Secondary and Anse Ger Secondary over Jon Odlum / George Charles Secondary.
At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Vide Bouteille completed a four wicket win over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary.Sir Ira Simmons batting first was dismissed for 87 in 16.5 overs with Kerick Victor making 24 and Jn Quane Epiphane 12.Bowling for Vide Bouteille, Davidson Pierre Louis 5 for 2 in 2 overs, Thomas Fields 3 for 17 in 5 overs with one wicket going to Merkel St. Rose.In reply, Vide Bouteille finished on 88 for 6 in 18 overs with James Donai making 20, Sherman St. Ange 16 and Lervon Dupres 12.Bowling for Sir Ira, Jn Quane Epiphane was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 21 in 7 overs.
At the Mindoo Phillip Park, Babonneau maintained their unbeaten streak with 49 runs victory over Ciceron.Babonneau being sent into to bat was dismissed for 96 in 19.4 overs, with Yannick Noel top scoring with 37 and Bolton Sayers 19.Bowling for Ciceron Noelle Leo bagged 5 for 8 in 5.4 overs, with Mike James lending good support with 4 for 27 in 5 overs.Ciceron in reply could only muster 47 in 15.4 overs with Ishmael Clement and Jamal Wilfred scoring 10 each.The main wicket takers for Babonneau were Javan James 5 for 8 in 3.4 overs, Caleb Thomas 3 for 10 in 5 overs and Tarrique Edwards 2 for 9 in 3 overs.
At the Piaye Playing Field Beanfield Comprehensive got the better of Piaye, winning that encounter by 8 wickets.Piaye batting first was dismissed for 76 in 24.5 overs with Kevin Francois making 18. The chief wicket takers for Beanfield were Tyrone Theodore and Urius Constantine with figures of 3 for 12 and 5 respectively in 7 overs and Amani agdoma 3 for 14 in 3 overs.In reply, Beanfield Comprehensive made light work of their target finishing on 77 for 2 in just 9.2 overs, with unbeaten knocks of 35 from Chad Matial and 14 from Cuthbert Hippolyte.For Piaye, the lone wicket taker was Kervan Albert with 2 for 3 in 4 overs.
At the Dennery Playing Field, Anse Ger earned themselves a well deserved 37 run victory over Jon Odlum/ George Charles Secondary.Anse Ger, taking first knock made 156 for 8 in their allotted 35 overs with Stephen Dupres making 34, Norah St. Rose 20, Darnal Doyle 27 and Johnny George 12.Bowling for the combined school Quan Byron was the main bowler with 5 for 30 in 7 overs, with Jervon Adrien chipping in with 2 for 24 in 7 overs.In reply Jon Odlum / George Charles was dismissed for 119 in 18 overs with Dwight Willie being the main contributor with 37.Bowling for Anse Ger Kayus Serieux took 4 for 20 in 4 overs, Makhaya Smith 2 for 29 in 5 overs and Noriah St. Rose 2 for 41 in 4 overs.
One match is scheduled for Wednesday 7th June at the Gros Islet Playing Field between Entrepot Secondary and Gros Islet Secondary.
