Team St. Lucia approached the final day of competition with a positive mindset and as a result reaped the benefits.Though they surrendered their Female basketball title they nevertheless added the Netball Title to their forte having defeated Grenada 39 – 32 in what turned out to a surprise to the pundits. Then there was the shocker as the Male Basketball team turned the tables to defeat front runners Grenada 42 – 30. While in the same discipline St. Vincent and the Grenadines overcame Dominica.
In the interim their lasses regrouped to convincingly defeat Grenada in straight sets in Volleyball 25 – 21, 25 – 22, and 25 – 19. In the same discipline Dominica also got the better of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in straight sets 25 – 14, 25 – 9, and 25 – 9. The momentum continued for Team St. Lucia in female basketball as they defeated the fancied Grenada team 45 – 36. In the other game, after closing off the half 42 – 5, Dominica crushed St. Vincent and the Grenadines 74 – 5 as they scored thirty two unanswered points.
In football action they took the game to Grenada and returned with a hard fought 2 – 2 draw, while St.Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Dominica 4 – 2.Thus at the culmination of the Tournament Team St. Lucia ended up with twenty seven points to maintain their second place showing. Grenada retained their Championship with forty three points. In third place was Dominica followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
