St. Lucian Boxers Travel To Guadeloupe

Press Release: Three boxers led by junior boxer of the year Nathan Ferarie, will be heading to Guadeloupe this evening. Police officer Colin Vidal and school boy Jovannus Fevrier  are expected to also be in action this weekend. The team will be guided by veteran coach Conrad Frederick.   Vidal  91 kg  heavyweight and  Fevrier  54kg  featherweight  will be entering the ring for the first time.

President of the boxing association  David “Shakes”  Christopher said “this exchange  program between St. Lucia and Guadalupe is a collaborative  plan towards developing new  boxers and keeping the sport alive.”

The main bout of the event will comprise  French youth champion  boxer Kashan Jackobie  taking on Nathan Ferriere  of St Lucia.  These are the two most talked about  youth boxers  coming out of last year’s Caribbean  development tournament in Guyana. Farrier will be using this  outing as major preparation for the Guyana  schoolboys  youth tournament later in the month. This trip was made possible by Mr. Omer Gumbs of Gaudaloupe who was present in St. Lucia for the celebration of the life of the late 2nd Vice President   Brian Mc Donald. Team St. Lucia returns on Sunday.
