Soufriere is currently preparing to participate in the 2017 Blackheart tournament and with two clubs from Soufriere currently on administrative suspension means that the team will be weakened considerably.
According to the writer in his opinion the SLFA is taking to long to address the matter and hence it is not fair to punish so many young skillful players for the bad decisions of a few. This long out investigation in his words is not doing justice to Soufriere’s football and by extension St. Lucia football.
He sighted the example of young Azzahra Gilbert a young footballer who was called to represent his country in the Under 17 CONCACAF tournament but couldn’t participate as a result of his Club Faith United being one of those on administrative suspension. In addition to the Senior Soufriere team being unable to field its better players, likewise their Under 21 team.
As a Sports activist and patriotic Soufrian the writer feels the delay in arriving at justice is unacceptable. It is time to deal with the cases, punish the guilty parties, free the rest so Soufriere can be once again be competitive. SLFA Fix It.
