The Saint Lucia Premier League T20 tournament continued on Saturday evening, in front of an appreciative crowd at the Soufriere Mini Stadium. In the opening game of the night, the Avatar City Blasters took on the Gros-Islet Knights.
Batting first, the Knights struggled to 72/9 in 20 overs. Dalton Polius top scored with 24 from 36 deliveries. For Avatar City, National fast bowler Loic Prosper was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/19 in his 4 overs. Equal in dominance with the ball was West Indies Under 19 cricketer Johnel Eugene who took 2/11 in 2 overs.
In response, Avatar City eased their way to the desired total thanks to an aggressive innings of 42 in 26 deliveries from Tarryk Gabriel. Gabriel hit 3 fours and 3 sixes in his well-played innings. Also on the score card for City, was former national wicket keeper batsman Gaspard Prosper, who hit 25 from 14 deliveries. The loan wicket was taken for Gros Islet was by Dalton Polius who finished with 1/6.
In the end, Avatar City won by 9 wickets.
