SLFA/ St. Lucia Sports Online Under 15 Football Western Zone

Matches continued in the SLFA St. Lucia Sports Online National under 15 Tournament, on Wednesday 1st February at the Anse La Raye Playing Field where canaries emerge with another three points to continue the impressive start defeating south Castries 3-2. Canaries opened the scoring in the 5th minutes through the long range effort of O’Neal Hippolyte, hitting a right foot screamer from 22 yards out. The lead was doubled in the 31st minutes through Ronaldo Francis capitalizing on a goalkeeping error. South Castries fought on and was rewarded right on the half with a nicely taken goal from Jamal Wilfred #14 evading the oncoming keeper and slotting home .At the half canaries lead by 2-1.

South Castries equalized 4 minutes  into the second half(49th) from a direct free kick 18 yards out converted a well taken set play to level the score.In the 76th minute Canaries retook the lead, this time Rio Longville (#8) striking from way outside the area to keep canaries undefeated after the opening two games and top of the western zone with 6 points .Jamal Wilfred was cautioned and in the 87th expelled for his second bookable offence .Steven Octave was also issued a caution.

Meanwhile on Thursday 2nd February match day three, Roseau defeated  Anse La Raye 4-2 ,Josh Marron #9 opened the scoring for Roseau in the 28th minute beating the high line set by Anse La Raye and neatly sneaking one pass onrushing keeper. Hanson Frederick from the penalty spot hammered home the equalizer for Anse La Raye on the stroke of halftime when Roseau was judged to handle the ball inside the penalty area. Roseau continued to dominate the encounter, took the lead in the 47th minute through kenna James #7 who capitalized on a goalkeeping blunder and slotted one past the goal line.

 Anse La Raye coming off a 6 -0 drubbing from Canaries days earlier were still unable to find a foothold on the game and in the 72th minutes, Stephen Valty #5 made them pay dearly for their disorganization in defense  and sloppy goalkeeping increasing Roseau’s lead to 3-1 .Stephen Valty made it 4-1 converting in the 88th minute paving the way for a successful first outing for the Roseau lads .Johnson Joseph #8 pulled one back for Anse La Raye from a free kick in the 90+1 making it 4-2 at the end of regulation.

 Tarric Phillip from Anse La Raye cautioned in the 12th minute and #09 Josh Marron from Roseau in the 45th minute.

Games in the Western Zone continues on Sunday when Canaries takes on Roseau at 4pm and home team  Anse La Raye comes up against South Castries at 6pm.
