The second in the series of community gym road-show for the upcoming St. Lucia Invitational bodybuilding and fitness classic was undertaken on Sunday 10th April 2016 with gyms on the east coast of the island.
The national mobilization and technical committee included former national bodybuilding captain and commonwealth middleweight champion Julian Felix was the main facilitator of the event and was ably assisted by former OECS and national female bodybuilding Champion Monica Dudley and Edmund Sidonie – Director of Sidonie Bros Gym.
As a precursor to the previous workshop held late last year the facilitators delivered a pre- competition preparation regime to participating athletes that incorporated a critical assessment of the individual physiques and a 45 day work-plan leading to the championships. The working sessions also included proper pre- competition dieting and supplementation with physical demos on fine tuning training techniques, mastering mandatory and free style posing and mental preparedness.
As part of the strategic mentoring program a number of former national bodybuilding champions including National , OECS and Central American and Caribbean lightweight bodybuilding Champion Lawrence “Robo cop” Stevens facilitated the demos and enticed the audience with a taste of what’s to come for the upcoming show at the ending of May.
Meanwhile plans are progressing for the 3rd road-show which would be held on Sunday 17th April at gyms in south of the island including Manoe’s Gym in Mon repos, Abnel’s Gym in Desreuseaux and Duval’s Gym in Vieux-fort.Gym owners and coaches are urged to ensure that their full membership would be in attendance.
Platinum sponsors of the event windward and Leeward brewery through its energy boosting Climax brand would be on hand to promote the brand’s usefulness as a pre workout booster and post energy recovery supplement particularly during the pre-competition countdown period.
