Shortlisted Nominee For Sportswoman of the Year Katie Kyle Profile


Competing at the Inter Schools swim championship Katie Kyle picked three gold medals and in the process helped her school Leon Hess Comprehensive to an overall second place finish.At two other local Swim Meets she swam unbeaten to amass a total of seven gold medals. Participating at the CARIFTA Games she picked up silver in the 100 meters butterfly and bronze in the 50 meter butterfly. She established two new Age Group and National records in both events.Regionally she competed at the 2017 Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships, picking up a silver medal in the 50 meter fly and a bronze in the 100 meters fly. At that Meet she established three New Age Group and National records in the 50 & 100 meters fly and the 100 meters free style.

Competing at the Commonwealth Youth Games Katie met with little success.Between September and November last year, Katie picked up one gold, two silver and one bronze medal, competing in meets in the UK where she is currently based.Katie is currently on a scholarship at the Plymouth High School in the United Kingdom. In October 2017 Katie was unformed by the World Governing Body for Swimming – FINA, that she had been granted a one year scholarship to assist her in her quest towards participating at the 2020 Olympics.Katie Kyle was by and large St. Lucia most outstanding swimmer both locally and regionally.
