The Celebrating Champions celebrations concluded at the Belair playing field last Saturday when the Sammy Lions rolled in to oppose the Jono Cobras in a T20 festival match organized by the South Castries Cricket Association in collaboration with West Indies duo Darren Sammy and Johnson Charles. Despite the uninvited showers prior to the start of play, the fair sized crowd was treated to some exciting cricket led by Lions batsman Stephen Naitram who spanked an undefeated 73 which included some 9 sixes. Alleyene Prosper of the Cobras also clouted 58 which included 5 maximums.
Sammy returned figures of 4/23 for his team while Charles captured 2/14 for his team. A total of 25 sixes and 17 fours were hit in the entire match.

In the brief post match presentation, the gathering was addressed by President of the South Castries Cricket Association – Bryan Calixte, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of sports- Dr, Anthony George and West Indies players Sammy and Charles. The two West Indies players took the opportunity to thank the sponsors as well as the fans for turning out to support the event and also presented a quantity of gear to the South Castries Cricket Association.
