Permaul Called for Final ODI

Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul has been included in the West Indies 14-man squad to face Pakistan in the third and final Brighto Paints One Day International at the Guyana National Stadium later today.

Head coach Stuart Law said the 27-year-old spinner has been brought in as cover for Shannon Gabriel, who is undergoing treatment on his right hamstring and will have a fitness test Tuesday morning.

Permaul has previously played six ODIs, taking eight wickets at an average of 30 and economy rate 4.69.

The full squad for Tuesday’s match is; Jason Holder (Captain), Devendra Bishoo, Jonathan Carter, Miguel Cummins, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Veerasammy Permaul, Kieran Powell, Rovman Powell and Chadwick Walton.

The series is currently tied at one game apiece. The West Indies won the first match on April 7 by four wickets while Pakistan won the second on April 9 by 74 runs.
