New Champion Crowned In Under 15 Schools Cricket

Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary Schools are Champions of the Department of Youth Development and Sports 2017 Secondary Schools 40 over aside Under 15 Cricket Tournament.

On Wednesday July 5th in the Tournament’s grand final played at the Gros Islet Playing Field, Leon Hess Comprehensive earned a hard fought 87 runs victory over fellow finalist Babonneau Secondary. Indeed it was sweet revenge for Leon Hess Comprehensive as Babonneau Secondary had the better of them in the preliminary round.A brilliant century followed by a four wicket haul by Windward Islands Under 15 captain Keygan Arnold proved too much for Babonneau Secondary.

Leon Hess batting first after winning the toss in a match reduced to 35 overs aside made a commanding 240 for 6 in their allotted overs with skipper Keygan Arnold top scoring with a magnificent 125 off just 93 balls which included 17 fours and 5 sixes. Other useful contributions came from Udell Preville 34 and Denzel Albert 23.Bowling for Babonneau Bolton Sayers 2 for 44 in 7 overs and Caleb Thomas and Tarrique Edward 2 for 52 in 8 overs each.

In reply despite an attacking half century from Yanick Noel Babonneau finished on 153 all out in 26.1 overs. Noel made an aggressive 70 comprising 7 fours and 4 sixes. Other useful scores came from Jed Alexander with 17 and Tarrique Edward with 15.Captain Keygan Arnold completed an outstanding all round performance picking up 4 for 44 in 7 overs. The other wicket takers for Leon Hess were, Shawnil Edward with 2 for 0 in 1.1 overs, with one wicket each to Jaden Elibox, Udell Preville and Denzel Albert.
