Inter-Schools 50 over Under 15 Cricket Tournament

The 2016 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Inter-Schools 50-Over U15 Cricket Tournament got on the way on Wednesday, 4th May 2016 with all four scheduled matches taking place island-wide.
Victories were recorded for Castries Comprehensive over Gros Islet Secondary, St Mary’s College over Babonneau Secondary, Micoud Secondary over Clendon Mason Memorial and Choiseul Secondary over Soufriere Comprehensive.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Castries Comprehensive recorded a commanding 10 wicket victory over Gros Islet Secondary. Gros Islet Secondary batting first was dismissed for 67 in 13 overs, with Darian Augustin making 23. For Castries Comprehensive, Dominic Auguste picked up 3 for 9 in 2 overs and Zayne Fontenelle 3 for 9 in 3 overs.
Chasing a paltry 68 for victory, Castries Comprehensive easily got to their target, finishing on 71 without loss in just 5.3 overs, with Dominic Auguste finishing on 33 not out.

Result: Castries Comprehensive Secondary winning over Gros Islet Secondary by 10 wickets.

At the Monchy Playing Field, St Mary’s College completed a well earned 51 run win over defending champions Babonneau Secondary. St. Mary’s College batting first was dismissed for 139 in 29.5 overs, with Rashad Gaston making 28 and Jervel Dupres 11.
Bowling for Babonneau Secondary, Donnell Andrew 3 for 13 in 5 overs and Caleb Thomas 3 for 26 in 7 overs.

In reply, Babonneau Secondary was dismissed for 88 in 14.1 overs, with Yannick Noel making 31, Jonathan Paul 14 and Alex Paul 12.
Bowling for St Mary’s College, Jervel Dupres 4 for 17 in 3 overs, Simeon Gerson 3 for 7 in 2.1 overs and Denzil James 2 for 22 in 4 overs.

Result: St Mary’s College winning over Babonneau Secondary by 51 runs.
Micoud Secondary taking first knock made 211 all out in 29.3 overs, with Garvin Serieux top scoring with 44, Dave Bernard 25 and Keon Gaston 24. At the Dennery Playing Field, Micoud Secondary got the better of that encounter, winning handsomely over Clendon Mason Memorial by 189 runs.

Bowling for Clendon Mason Memorial, Josh Emmanuel 3 for 9 in 3.3 overs and Taj Dolor 3 for 23 in 8 overs.

In reply, a devastating spell of off spin bowling from Garvin Serieux reduced Clendon Mason Memorial to 22 all out in 11 overs. Serieux who bowled with immaculate control, ended with outstanding figures of 6 overs, 3 maidens, 6 runs (8) wickets.

Result: Micoud Secondary winning over Clendon Mason Memorial by 189 runs.

At the Piaye Playing Field, Choiseul Secondary registered a comfortable 6 wicket victory over Soufriere Comprehensive.
Soufriere Comprehensive batting first was dismissed for 113 in 25.1 overs, with Zande Laurencin making 18 and Anel Faucher 17 not out. Bowling for Choiseul Secondary, Kurvey Rosemond 3 for 15 in 6 overs, Davel Edward 3 for 18 in 4.1 overs, Marley Hunte 2 for 7 in 1 over and Sarwan Jn Baptiste 2 for 16 in 6 overs.

Chasing 114 for victory, Choiseul Secondary, led by an unbeaten knock of 32 from Sky La Feuille, easily got to their target finishing on 117 for 4 in 19.2 overs.

Curtius Jones was Soufriere Comprehensive’s best bowler, finishing with 4 for 32 in 7 overs.

Result: Choiseul Secondary winning over Soufriere Comprehensive by 6 wickets.

The tournament continues on Thursday, May 5 with four more scheduled matches.

Home Team, Piaye Secondary comes up against Vieux Fort Comprehensive La Ressource at the Piaye Playing Field, Anse Ger Secondary plays Grande Riviere Secondary at the Dennery Playing Field, at the Gros Islet Playing Field it will be Sir Ira Simmons Secondary clashing with SDA Academy and at the Monchy Playing Field, Leon Hess Comprehensive plays Jon Odlum Secondary.
