Guyana to Host CPL Final

This season’s final and semi-finals of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will be held in Guyana following the country’s successful bid to host the event. Guyana staved off strong interest from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados to host the cricket carnival final, which will cost the government somewhere in the region of US$4.5m. Despite the seemingly steep price tag, the island could stand to recoup significant benefits. According to reports, Trinidad and Tobago, who spent US$3.84m to host last year’s final went on to make a reported US$15.40m from local vendors, travel, media and advertising
