The St. Lucia Football Association in collaboration with the Gros Islet Football League started the Guardsman Northern Zone Under 14 Championship on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March at the Grand Reviere Playing Field. The Tournament started off on Saturday 5th March with an Opening Ceremony and Match Pass at 9.30 am with the 14 Clubs taking part in the Competition. The Opening Ceremony also featured welcome remarks by Charde Desir and addresses from the President of the St. Lucia Football Association Mr. Lyndon Copper, Hon. Emma Hippolyte District Representative for Gros Islet, Mr. Clivie George financial controller for Guardsman St. Lucia and Shayne Paul President of the Gros Islet Football League. The Competition started off with three games following the Opening Ceremony with the 1st game featuring Reduit FC vs Ciceron Seagulls. At the end of the game Reduit FC won over Ciceron Seagulls 4-2. The goals for Reduit FC were scored by Luc Cowing, Delvin Nelson, Camaron Cupid and Keyshawn St. Rose. The goals for Ciceron Seagulls were scored by Vivian DÁuvergne and Alec Hippolyte. The 2nd game featured VSADC vs Ct Foundation. At the end of the game VSADC won over CT Foundation 5-0. The goals for VSAD
C were scored by Jake Joseph with 3 goals and Naveed Joseph with 2 goals. The 3rd game featured Big Players vs Valley Soccer. At the end of the game Big Players won over Valley Soccer 1-0. The goal for Big players was scored by Adrian Vitalis. The Competition continued on Sunday 6th March with the 1st game featuring Lancers vs B1 Juniors. At the end of the game B1 Juniors won over Lancers 10-0. The goals for B1 Juniors were scored by Donavan Phillip with 2 goals, Vandell Greenidge with 2 goals, Semian George with 3 goals, Kevin Francois with 1 goal and Jahel Francis with 2 goals.
The 2nd game featured Super J Bouboville vs Fond Asson. At the end of the game it was a draw 1-1. The goal for Bouboville was scored by Livon Dupre and the goal for Fond Asson by Yanic Noel. The 3rd game featured Super J Northern United vs First Touch/Pioneers. At the end of the game First Touch/Pioneers won over Super J Northern United 2-0 with 2 goals from Kyle Serville. Following the weekend games the Tournament will continue on the following weekend at the Grand Riviere Playing field on Saturday 12th March with 3 games and Sunday 13th March with 3 games.
