Gros-Islet into Veterans Quarter Final

Roger Celestin

Gros Islet Veterans are into the quarter-final of the ever exciting Caribbean Alliance Veterans Football Tournament. The team from up north defeated Mon Repos Sharks 3-nil in front of a nice crowd at the Gros Islet Playing field.

In the match played on Tuesday night, former Orion defender Sherman Sylvester got things going for Gros Islet in the first half.

In search of a top spot in the group, Gros Islet went on to seal victory after Roger Celestin registered an impressive brace in the second half.

As a result, Gros Islet goes into the Christmas break as one of the favorites to win the highly coveted Caribbean Alliance Gold Cup.

That is, of course, if they can stay away from libations associated with the festive season.
