Matches continued on Thursday 19th October 2017, in the Department of Youth Development and sports schools football competition. In the under 19 division, Jon Odlum Secondary School defeated Castries Comprehensive Secondary School, 1-nil. Joemani Pierre found the back of the net for Jon Odlum Secondary in the 59th minute. In the other match played in Group B, St. Mary’s College defeated Bocage secondary 2-1.
In a match played in Group C of this competition, Micoud Secondary handed Soufriere Comprehensive their first defeat of the season. Micoud dominated proceedings to defeat Soufriere 3-1 in convincing fashion. In the match played at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort, Soufriere got on the score sheets early, thanks to a goal from Glen St. John in the 4th minute.
However, it was all Micoud from then on. Soufriere’s downfall commenced when “the perpetrator” Donavan Perpie found the back of the net for Micoud in the 18th minute. Perpie was a member of the Vieux Fort South under 15 team that did well in the 2017 St. Lucia Sports Online/SLFA Under 15 Tournament. In the 25th minute of play, Atley Clovis joined the party to ensure that Micoud enjoyed a 2-1 lead going into the dressing room. In the second half, Micoud would seal victory in the 69th minute as Vieux Fort’s under 15 sensation Donavan Perpie completed an impressive brace.
In the other match played in Group C, Piaye Secondary came from behind to defeat Anse Ger Secondary at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds. Anse Ger Secondary took the lead in this encounter in the 6th minute, thanks to a goal from Luester Mitchel. Piaye would level the match at 1-1, as Zane Amedee found the back of the net in the 22nd minute. In the second half, Giovani Charles would find the winner for Piaye in the 66th minute. As a result, Piaye Secondary leaps to the top of this group on 4 points, with lots of football left in this group.
