Canaries youth leader David Henry is on his way to the principality of Monaco in France to attend an International Forum from December 6 – 8 2017.The senior national footballer will represent Sacred Sports Foundation and the Ministry of Youth Development and Sport at the International Forum, which will see him speak alongside the likes of top sports persons such as FIFA World Cup winning footballer and social activist Lilian Thuram and Olympic Artist Roald Bradstock, just to name a few.David’s attendance comes as part of the Sacred Sport Foundation’s growing partnership with the Monaco based Peace and Sport Organization. Earlier this year, Sacred Sports was selected as one of the eight global Act for What Matters sports for development partners by Peace and Sport.
Besides attending the Forum David is schedule to receive a modest donation of sports equipment and technical assistance.As part of the partnership, SSF’s football skills development manual will be adopted by Peace and Sport partners and SSF will introduce the sport of Fencing in St. Lucia in 2018.David’s attendance at the Festival will spotlight youth development activities underway and scheduled in St. Lucia. The Peace and Sport International Forum brings together leading thinkers from across both the sport movement and the peace movement to share best practices. This year’s Forum will celebrate the tenth year of the organization’s existence, and the theme of the Forum will be Sport Innovation for Social Transformation, focusing on the importance of social innovation, disruption and forward thinking in helping to transform societies through sports.
The Forum also incorporates the annual Peace and Sports Awards on Thursday 7th December, which reward organizations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to peace, dialogue and social stability in the world through sport.
