Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School are once again champions of the Department of Youth Development and Sports Inter Schools Under 19 Netball Tournament. Megan Nestor and the girls defeated Micoud Secondary School in the tournament decider.
Last month in a preliminary encounter played at the Vieux Fort Multi-Purpose Court, Micoud came out on top against the defending champions. However, in the final played at the Vigie Sports Complex, the defending champions rose again. In a final that ebbed and flowed in every quarter, Soufriere outscored Micoud, to win the title by five points. Soufriere won that match up 42-37. For Soufriere, national player Megan Nestor came to the party. The Canaries native was clinical, netting 31 of her 39 attempts. Nestor’s efforts were aided by Tancy Pascal who scored 11 from 16 attempts. For Micoud, Kiana Nelson scored 20 from from 30 attempts.
