Breaking News: Water Situation at Mindoo Phillip Park Forces Anglican to Host Sports Meet on School Compound

The Anglican Infant school felt they had no choice but to host their 2018 Inter-House competition on the school’s compound. Every year around this time, the school partners with the Canon Laurie Anglican Primary School to host their calendar event at the Mindoo Phillip Park.

However, according to school principal Christine Merville, “we were supposed to have our sports meet at the Mindoo Phillip Park, but only on Saturday we got word that there is no running water.” The principal explained that they “had to take a fast decision so that [they] do not disappoint the children and have fun sports at the school.”

Individuals from the school also indicated that the Daren Sammy Cricket grounds may not have been an option due to a similar water situation. As such, the teachers of the school came together put together races on the concrete surface, events that included: guava and spoon, sprints, full the bottle and balloon bursting.

The participating houses included: Colleymore, House, James, King and Lake House.
