Bodybuilding Continues in communities Island-wide


Press Release – Report on Fourth Road-show – NLA/ Climax – St. Lucia Invitational Bodybuilding and Fitness Classic’s-Sunday 1st May 2016


The fourth in the series of community gym road-show for the upcoming St. Lucia Invitational bodybuilding and fitness classic was undertaken on Sunday 1st May 2016 with Riverside Gym in Soufriere.

Some 35 bodybuilding and fitness athletes attended the working sessions, digested the contents of the proceedings and engaged the facilitators on proper strength training, nutrition and pre competition mental preparedness.

In keeping with the continued approach of ensuring that we achieve a well coordinated and executed competition preparedness plan for potential athletes the facilitators undertook a screening and selection process and it was evident that there was good potential from the sulphur city athletes. The technical committee would undertake further screenings during the coming week and would assist the gym manager/coach franklin Solomon in preparation and selection of a representative team.

The working sessions was also attended by Jackie Trim- President of the local federation who was instrumental in providing participants with tips on Judges Expectations and competition rules and regulations.



During the course of last week the mobilization and technical team completed gym visitations screening and registration of athletes at laborde’s  Vel’s, fitness freaks, Sidonie Bros Gym and Eugene’s Gym in the Castries and Gros Islet communities.

The mobilization campaign continues this week with screening selection and registration planned for Abnel’s gym in Demery and Mano’s Gym in Mon repos on Tuesday 4th May 2016 Eugene’s gym and Mango Moon on Wednesday 5th and labordes Gym on 6th May,

Meanwhile a Grand roadshow which would include working sessions on final preparation of athletes in nutrition, training and posing would be help at Fitness Freaks gym in Grande Riviere Gros Islet on Sunday 15th May from 10 am to 3 pm. All gym coaches and athletes of participating gyms are mandated to attend for dress rehearsals and final registration. Meals and refreshments would be served and local providers of health foods and supplements would be displaying their product lines accordingly.
