Blake is Back!!

After sprinting to a world-leading 9.95s at the MVP Track and Field Meet at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday night, 2011 World 100-metres champion Yohan Blake said he now feels free to run fast again. Running in the last of 10 heats, Blake, who has a personal best of 9.69s, the second fastest time in history, pulled away from British Olympic prospect Zharnel Hughes and Jamaica’s Olympic hopeful Rasheed Dwyer to deliver his fastest time in two years. blakeBoth Hughes and Dwyer were given the same time 10.10s, but it was Blake who grabbed the attention as the only sub-10 sprinter on Saturday and the first Jamaican to do so this year. He revealed that breaking the 10-second barrier was a big step as he continues to prepare for what he hopes to be a triumphant return to the Olympics this summer.
