Babonneau continues to impress in this year’s Vizions Entertainment Super League Football Tournament. The team from the extreme north-east of St. Lucia dominated every aspect of the game to see off a spirited effort from Soufriere to get to the final four in this year’s highly touted competition.
Babonneau came up trumps early in this encountering scoring off a bouncing ball in the box within the first ten minutes. In this physical encounter, the former Blackheart finalist doubled their league in the second half via the penalty spot.
Soufriere for their part woke up shortly after. After all, many in our Sportsonline pole gave Soufriere the nod to oust the young Babonneau team to play the semi-final in front of a Sulphur City crowd. A brilliantly headed goal by their tall defender gave them hope with still 25 minutes left till the final whistle.
Babonneau would however hold off Soufriere to advance to the final four winning that one 2-1.
