Armani Modeste Breaks 400m & 200m Records

The third annual Elite Invitational Track and Field Meet was held on Sunday April 17th 2016, at the Mindoo Phillip Park. Some of the winners in the keenly contested events last Sunday are as follows:

In the Hillary Spenser Girls 60m: Candice Henry of district One won in 9.49 seconds. In the boys Shaquan Jean from roadbusters won in 9.44 seconds.

In the Sybil Corian 80m, Jada Emmanuel in 11.48 seconds and in the Hillary Spenser 80m boys, Kisler Wilson of Road Busters in 11.22 seconds.

In the Adre Dore 80m under 13 girls Joy Edward of Survivors in 10.84 seconds and in the boys Geric Gittens of Roadbusters.

In the Cricket Ball throw Candice Bernard from District 1 threw 25. 36m. DSC00334

Mya Hippolyte from survivors won the girls under 15 100m in 13.60 seconds,,,while morne stars Kemuel Pelage won the boys division in 12.09 seconds.

Nyrick Joseph broke the meet recod in the John Albertie 100m under 18 boys in a time of 11.50 seconds, while Desray Desir won the girls division in 12.90 seconds…

Shanaz Paul of Gros-Islet destroyed competitors in the girls 300m in a time of 44.49 seconds…while Michael Joseph also from District one won the Ron Boyce 300m in 41.09 seconds

In the Leo Robinson 400m under 18…the future of the quarter mile in St. Lucia, Armani Modeste shattered the meet record to run a time of 52.07 seconds, while Allana Paul won the Janelle Larent event in 59.70 seconds…

DSC00320In the National Lotteries Cricket Ball Throw under 13 girls,  Daughter of former Legend Athlete Philicia Joseph and also neice of one of the best footballers in St. Lucia’s history Elijah Joseph broke the meet record. Faith Regis won that event and set the new record mark of 30.17 meters.


The other records broken at the meet came from Candice Bernard in the Garvin Lesporis 150m, in a time of 24.31 seconds, Candice of course from District one….Shaquan Jean in the Antony Thomas 150m won in a time of 23.78 seconds…Nyan Alfred in the Cricket ball throw won with a record breaking 50.18…Desran Desir of Morne stars in the mens long jump won with the record distance of 6.91m…Armani Modeste again broke the 200m record in the time of 23.05 seconds. Asa Lionel in the Ronald Promesse 200m Mens Open from Blazers in the time of 22.39 seconds… DSC00335
