Ambris Led The Way As Windies A Closed Day 2!

A Sunil Ambris century led the way as the Windies ‘A’ closed day two of their unofficial Test against Sri Lanka ‘A’ on 364-8 after rain put paid to what was setting up to be an interesting evening session at the Trelawny Multiplex in Florence Hall, Jamaica.

Resuming on 62 not out overnight, Ambris scored 106 from 156 deliveries when he was out caught off the bowling of Chamika Karunaratne.

Earlier, Vishaul Singh, who was on 58 overnight, made his way to a patient 81 before he lost his wicket to Fernando, going trapped leg before after facing 219 deliveries.

Rahkeem Cornwall then scored 36 from 64 deliveries along with Damion Jacobs who scored 15.

When rain stopped play, Sheldon Cottrell, on two, and Keon Joseph, on one, were the not-out batsmen.

Malinda Pushpakumara with 3-104, and Chamika Karunaratne, 2-61, have been the most successful of the Sri Lankan bowlers so far.

There have also been wickets for Asith Fernando, 1-37, and Shehan Jayasuriya, 1-43.

Yesterday, the Windies, after skipper Shamarh Brooks, chose to bat, recovered from 76-2, to end the day on 232 for four, after opener John Campbell scored 56 to help rebuild the innings. Montcin Hodge, 13, and Brooks, 19, were the batsmen back in the pavilion at the time.
